ADDINGTON PUNTER CHALLENGE

RULES & CONDITIONS
1. Names of contestants to be disclosed – although a nom de plume may be used for publicity purposes.
2. $600 betting funds to be deposited with the Club by Thursday 29th March 2012 at 5.00 pm in cash or certified Bank Cheque unless special arrangements have been made. A receipt will be issued.
3. Minimum of $60.00 to be invested on each race commencing with Race 1. This applies to all twelve races. There is no maximum.
4. Once funds have been used no additional monies can be added.
5. If the balance is less than $60.00, the entire amount shall be invested.
6. A bet in any given race must be placed at least five minutes prior to the start of the race. Failure to comply with this Rule will result in the Club investing $60 on the win favourite at the time on the contestant’s behalf.
7. In the event of an enquiry which is not resolved prior to five minutes before the start of the next race, any contestants whose funds are held up because of the enquiry and who has less than $60.00 of funds available, shall not be disqualified but shall resume investing on the race after the inquiry has been resolved.
8. All bets to be placed on 30th March 2012 New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club race meeting. The bet types which cannot be placed are Pick Six, Six Pack and final field betting.
9. Contestants must complete bet slips themselves, and take full responsibility for any error which may occur on them.
10. A progress chart showing each contestant’s name (or nom de plume) will be updated following each race as soon as possible after results are confirmed.
11. The winner shall be the contestant with the highest balance after dividends of the last race at the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club have been added to the contestant’s deposit ticket.
12. The individual balance and payout of amounts earned will be available as soon as possible after the last race is confirmed. Every endeavor to pay out final funds in cash will be made, however contestants must accept that either TAB cheques or deposit slips may have to be given.
13. A presentation will be made to the winning contestant after the last race
14. In the event of a tie, the winner shall be drawn by lot under the supervision of the Racecourse Inspector.
15. If, for any reason, the race meeting is postponed or abandoned, the contestant who has the highest balance at the time the meeting is stopped shall be declared the winner.
16. Syndicates are limited to a maximum of four (4) persons. There are no exceptions to this rule
17. Each entry/syndicate has a maximum of four persons. Each individual contestant is required to pay $30 each by Thursday, 29th March 2012 at 5.00 pm to enter the room. This $30 includes a Buffet Meal and 3 complimentary Lion Breweries products.
18. The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club reserves the right to cancel this competition and refund money in full if less than 30 entries are received.
19. A maximum of 100 entries will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
20. Each contestant or syndicate will designate only one person to hand the completed bet slip to the operator of the betting terminal. The operator will then place the bets for the contestant.
21. All contestants must be in the Punters Challenge area on Smarts Mound (southern end of the public stand) thirty (30) minutes before the first race
22. The winner(s) will receive a cash prize of $4,000 plus a Challenge Trophy. Second prize winner will receive a Corporate Suite. Third Prize winner will receive entry into the October Punters Challenge for FOUR people valued at $720 (Prizes are non transferable for Cash)
23. Contestants accept that as the winner their nom de plume may be used for publicity/media purposes.
24. Full payment of both $600 betting funds and $30.00 per head room entry may be made to the Yaldhurst Hotel Punters Challenge, New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club, PO Box 9036, Addington, Christchurch – or delivered to the Addington Raceway Office, Twigger Street, Addington, Christchurch – by 5.00 pm on Thursday 29th March 2012.
25. The management of Addington Raceway has the ability to override any of the above rules if a dispute should arise. Their decision shall be final.
26. Dress: Smart casual wear.
